All attempts of Multan Sultans failed, Peshawar Zalmi won by six wickets

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the fifth match of the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans by six wickets.
Thanks to the quick batting of Tom Cadmore and Haider Ali, Peshawar Zalmi completed the target of 194 runs one over earlier.Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq started the innings fast for Peshawar Zalmi but Kamran Akmal scored 37 runs and became LBW on the ball of Usman Qadir.
Imam-ul-Haq and Tom Cadmore then advanced the score. The two batsmen put on a 77-run partnership.However, Imam-ul-Haq could not complete his half century and was run out for 48 runs.
Rutherford was then caught for 15 runs. He was dismissed by Shahnawaz Dhani, who played his first match.
Shahnawaz Dhani also got a valuable wicket of Tom Cadmore in the same over. He played an innings of 53 runs with the help of six fours and a six.

Haider Ali then led his team to victory. He scored 24 off 8 balls with the help of two sixes and two fours and remained unbeaten. Shoaib Malik also remained unbeaten on 11 runs.
Earlier, Multan Sultans had scored 193 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. For Multan Sultans, Mohammad Rizwan and Chris Lin started the innings but Chris Lin was caught on the first ball of the second over. He was dismissed by Muhammad Irfan.

After that Mohammad Rizwan and one-down James Venus did not let the momentum of the batting line fall. The two had a partnership of 82 runs after which Mohammad Rizwan scored 41 runs and got out on the ball of Mohammad Imran.
Sohaib Maqsood also maintained an aggressive style and made a 71-run partnership with James Venus. He was caught for 36 runs.
James Venus completed his 50 off 39 balls with six fours and a six. He scored 84 runs and got out on the ball of Saqib Mahmood.
Riley Russo remained unbeaten on 14 and Khushdal Shah on six. Saqib Mahmood took two wickets for Peshawar Zalmai.
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to field first at the National Stadium Karachi on Tuesday.

The start of the tournament did not go well for both teams and both have lost their opening matches.
Multan Sultans lost to Islamabad United while Peshawar Zalmi lost to Lahore Qalandars.
In today’s important match, the squads of both the teams consist of these players.

It may be recalled that out of the six matches played so far between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi, Multan has been victorious in four. Peshawar has won two.
So far, Lahore Qalandars are at the top of the PSL points table with four points. He had defeated Quetta Gladiators by nine wickets yesterday.
