PSL 6: Multan Sultans got their first victory

Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets in the seventh match of Pakistan Super League season six at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Multan Sultans got the target of 158 thanks to the excellent batting of Mohammad Rizwan and Sohaib Maqsood. Sohaib Maqsood remained unbeaten on 61 runs.
When Multan Sultans started their innings, Chris Lin was bowled on the third ball of Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Multan Sultans suffered the second loss of James Venus who scored five runs and was caught by the ball of Summit Patel. However, Mohammad Rizwan’s aggressive batting continued and he rained fours.
Mohammad Rizwan completed his half century off 27 balls with the help of nine fours. He was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi after a brilliant innings of 76 runs.

He and Sohaib Maqsood also shared a 110-run stand for the third wicket. Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets for Lahore Qalandars.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Multan Sultans first invited Lahore Qalandars to bat. Lahore Qalandars scored 157 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

 


Fakhr Zaman and Sohail Akhtar started the innings cautiously for Lahore Qalandars. Sohail Akhtar could not do anything special and was caught for seven off 12 balls. He was dismissed by Carlos Braithwaite.
In the next over, young fast bowler Shahnawaz Dhani dismissed Fakhr Zaman, he could only make nine runs. After that Joe Danley and Mohammad Hafeez supported the batting line. The two formed a 89-run partnership.

After which Joe Danley scored 31 runs and became the target of Carlos Braithwaite. Shortly afterwards, Ben Dunk was dismissed by Usman Qadir. He could only make one score.
While Mohammad Hafeez continues to perform brilliantly. He completed his half-century off 27 balls with five sixes.
Muhammad Hafeez was run out for 61 runs. David Ways was the sixth player to be dismissed by Lahore Qalandars. He was caught by Shahnawaz Dhani. While Summit Patel 26 and Shaheen Shah Afridi are not out with three runs.
Shahnawaz Dhani took two wickets for Multan Sultans.
This is the first clash between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans in the current PSL season.

Lahore Qalandars have played two matches so far and both have won while Multan Sultans have also played two matches but they have lost both the matches.
Lahore Qalandars have won the first match against Peshawar Zalmi and the second against Quetta Gladiators.
In today’s match, both the teams have made changes in their squads.
The Lahore Qalandars have included Joe Danley and Salman Mirza while the Multan Sultans have replaced Sohail Tanveer with Sohail Khan.

If you look at the points table, Islamabad United is still number one in terms of matches and net run rate. He has scored four points so far. While Multan Sultans have come fourth after their first victory today.
Lahore Qalandars are in second place and have four points but this run rate is lower than Islamabad United. Karachi Kings are third, Peshawar Zalmi is fifth and Quetta Gladiators are sixth.
