In the 14th match of Pakistan Super League Six, Quetta Gladiators defeated Multan Sultans and became the first successful team in PSL Six.
The Gladiators gave the Sultans a 177-run target to win, which they failed to meet.
Apart from Mohammad Rizwan, the batsmen of Multan Sultans could not perform well today. James Owens was caught by Sarfraz Ahmed off Qais Ahmed. Shaun Masood could not even handle the wicket that Qais Ahmed showed him the way to Pauline.Riley Russo was also piled up by Qais Ahmed and after him Sohaib Maqsood could not stay on the wicket for long and was caught by Muhammad Nawaz.
Khushdal Shah scored 19 off 12 balls but was caught by Mohammad Hasnain. Carlos also piled on Muhammad Hasnain’s ball without showing any performance.After him, captain Mohammad Rizwan scored 66 runs and got out on the ball of Zahid Mahmood and Sohail Khan also fell victim to Zahid Mahmood.Earlier in the innings, Quetta Gladiators’ Saeem Ayub scored 23 off 18 balls and was dismissed by Imran Tahir. Usman Khan was also bowled by Imran Tahir. He scored 81 off 5o balls.
After him, Faf Duplessis could not stay on the wicket for long and returned to Pauline after scoring 17 runs on the ball of Sohail Khan.Sarfraz Ahmed also fell victim to Imran Tahir by scoring three runs without showing any performance. After him, Ben Cutting and Azam Khan were targeted by Shahnawaz Dahani.
Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to field against Quetta Gladiators.
Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators have never played a match before in PSL Six and this is the first match between the two teams.
Multan Sultans are fifth in the points table and have scored two points. The Sultans have played four matches, losing three and winning one.
The Gladiators are sixth in the points table and have not scored a point. Quetta Gladiators have also played four matches but have not won a single match.
Defending champions Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets in the first match on Wednesday.
Both teams have played five, five matches. Peshawar Zalmi lost two matches and won three, while PSL defending champions Karachi Kings lost two matches and won three.
For today’s match, Peshawar Zalmi entered the field with four foreigners, one Emerging and Karachi Kings with four foreigners and two emerging players.
