Peshawar Zalmi skipper Wahab Riaz believes that youngster Haider Ali will play a vital role in his side’s victories, during the remaining HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six matches in Abu Dhabi.
While speaking during a virtual press conferences, Riaz said that Ali’s destructive batting is key for the Zalmi outfit.
“You have seen Haider Ali’s performance in the last season as well as the first leg this year. We always give him confidence and the license to play his natural game. Giving a player confidence is very important even if he gets out or hits a six on his very first ball,” said Riaz.
“Haider wasn’t able to do well on the tour [of New Zealand] but he was outstanding for us in a couple of games, while playing lower down the order. Form is temporary but Haider’s destructive batting can help us win games. He is motivated and will make full use of this PSL,” he added.
Zalmi will play their first match, after the resumption of HBL PSL 6, against Lahore Qalandars in Abu Dhabi today.
